that don’t impress me much

society at large is not easily impressed

by anything these days

apparently God gets impressed

at least that is what i heard Him whisper in the night

how could THAT possibly be?

He loves to hear our praises

more than that

quite opposite of a world that is not easily impressed

God can be impressed

because of His relationship with us.

like a father or mother

clapping gleefully for their child’s

clever action or words,

he can be impressed.

you can see them unapologetically

performing an absurd action or phrase in order

to get their child to repeat

even the simple, stumbled-over, mispronounced

first words

faces shine with admiration and pride

at their child

not because of performance
