As I prayed at as is my custom I had a vision of myself going into an antiquated Mikvah, a Jewish purification bath. The mikveh was always one of the first things that was set up when the Israelites were wandering in the desert. Along with the tabernacle it’s presence and availability to the people for purification on a regular basis was a high priority. The rabbinic tradition as such is the water needed to be natural or “moving water” a spring. Psalm 87:7 Both the singers and the players on instruments say, “All my springs are in you.”
Jeremiah 17: 13
O Lord, the hope of Israel,
All who forsake You shall be ashamed.
“Those who depart from Me
Shall be written in the earth,
Because they have forsaken the Lord,
The fountain of living waters.”
Jeremiah 18: 11 now therefore speak to the man of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying that says Lord, behold I am fasting a disaster and a plan against you return now everyone from his evil way and make your ways and you’re doing good. 12 and they said that is hopeless so we will walk according to our own plans and we will everyone obey the dictates of our own evil heart therefore, that says the Lord ask now among the gentles who has heard such things, the virgin of Israel has done a horrible thing will a man leave the snow water of Lebanon, which comes from the rock of the field with a cold flowing waters. Be forsaken for strange waters because my people have forgotten me. They have burned in sense to worthless idols, and they have caused themselves to stumble and their ways from the ancient pass to walk in pathways and not on a highway to make their land desolate and a perpetual hissing.” The two paths are still before us. The ancient paths. Choose you this day. Will you choose blessing or cursing life or death?
When the woman was caught in adultery and the crowd gathered to stone, her, Jesus said let him who is without sin, cast the first stone. He proceeded to crouch down and right in the dirt. He was likely pronouncing the judgement of Jeremiah17:13 instead of having their names written in the book of life, their names are written, and the dust which is the equivalent of being cursed. John the Baptist did not want to baptize Jesus because baptism the Jewish mikvah was a declaration of need for purification. But Jesus told him it was necessary for him to complete all aspects of obedience.
Jesus stood in the temple on the last great day of the feast of Tabernacles, and said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
Jeremiah 2:13 For My people have committed two evils: They have abandoned (rejected) Me, The fountain of living water, And they have carved out their own cisterns, Broken cisterns That cannot hold water. He WANTS to be our GOD! He WANTS to be our only source.
How many verses in the Bible say that God says Come! My internet search says 100.
Come, all who are weary and heavy laden. Come let us reason together for your sin be a Scarlet they will be wide as snow.
Come all Who are thirsty
The spirit and the bride say come !
For sake the path of the flesh, the life of the dirt of the ground. God created man out of the dust of the Earth and put his spirit in him. We always have this choice, flesh or spirit.
So, COME choose Him, choose his ways, in Him are the paths of life, choose life!
