This is content is something I posted seven years ago. My heart is still aflame with this message. I hope it adds a spark to the fire on the hearth of your heart this morning. Much love.
I have often heard it said all intercessors are prophets but all prophets are intercessors. A prophetic life includes hearing Gods’ heart for His creation and praying for it to come to pass. Jeremiah 27 talks about false prophets prophesying peace. Jeremiah says that if they were true prophets they would intercede and have power with God to sway His mind to make King Nebuchadnezzar return all the articles of the temple to Jerusalem and not take them captive.
Intercession has drawn me closer to God in a way I don’t believe anything else could do. The revelation of His compassion in prayer has engendered great care for what His perspective is in every given situation. That is a friendship. Remember, He told Abraham what He was about to do because He considered him His friend.
So much has been said about prayer, and there are excellent articles and blogs available. Occasionally, I come across something that is just like what I would say about a subject and I read one such article by Paul Balius. He is an author of a blog called ‘He has you’. You can read his article on the heart of intercession here
In James 4:8 promises in scripture that He draws near to those who draw near to Him. Make note that verse also calls for repentance and humility of heart. Why would God trust the secrets of His heart to someone who thinks we already know and understand.
Do you want to share your true emotions and passions to someone who does not value what you are about to say and truly listen and give you space?
Do you have any issue with believing it is the Lord’s desire to speak to you?
Know this, the Lord IS and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11: 6
Make room for Him this morning.
I bless you as you do that.
